OraMD Review and Giveaway!
Friday, January 25, 2013
As part of my New Year resolution, I'm taking an active role in better managing my oral health. While I've always brushed/flossed/visited the dentist regularly, I found that sometimes I still didn't feel like my mouth was clean. I've invested in some new heads for my electric toothbrush, a night guard to protect my teeth at night (I'm a bad tooth grinder at night!) and now I don't have to depend on gum to freshen my breath; I've got OraMD!
OraMD is a new product that is guaranteed to solve any gum issues you may be having, along with freshening your breath! On their website they detail some of the chemicals in oral products like toothpaste and mouthwash that can cause a host of problems. From SLS (Which I actively try to avoid) to Flouride, they give a detailed oral routine designed to combat oral problems and maintain your teeth and gums.
Step #1: Brush 2x a day (I already do this), once in the morning and once in the evening. Use 2-5 drops of OraMD on your toothbrush and brush as you normally would. Do not swallow the OraMD product.
Step#2: Floss every evening before you brush – more frequently if needed.(I do this, too!) Make sure you do not have any food particles in your teeth.
Step#3: Use the OraMD as a mouthwash 2x a day. Simply put 2-5 drops into 1 ounce of water and swish around in your mouth, gargle and spit. Doing this kills the bacteria that are in your mouth and on your tongue.
Step#4: In the mid morning and mid afternoon, place 2-5 drops of OraMD on the tip of your tongue. Run your tongue along your gum line to coat it with the OraMD to kill bacteria and freshen your breath.
You read that right-OraMD can replace your toothapste! But be forewarned: it's STRONG. It's incredibly minty-like, take your breath away minty. I have not used it with my daughter-it's that strong. It puts Listerine to shame!!!
But, on the plus side, I noticed that after using it my mouth felt cleaner and refreshed-even after eating Indian food! I can only handle about 1 drop in my mouth at a time. It's also super easy to just slip in your purse on the go!
OraMD contains three oils:
Peppermint Oil
This 100% natural botanical oil is a proven natural combatant to many types of the bacteria in your mouth. Since OraMD is an oil, it does not dry out your mouth like toothpaste and mouthwash can because it is not alcohol based. The oil seeps between the gum line and attacks your bacteria even while you sleep and provides additional support to fight dry mouth. Dry mouth causes the bacteria to multiply at an accelerated rate and must be controlled for good oral hygiene.
Spearmint Oil
We use only the most potent and powerful species of all our botanical oils and our spearmint oil is no different. Like the peppermint oil, spearmint oil fights the 22 known harmful bacteria in your mouth, but when the two are combined they make a synergistic and powerful product.
Almond Oil
By using OraMD, with its almond oil you’ll be allowing your mouth to have the bacteria control you need for your mouth to heal itself. Almond oil provides just the right base for peppermint and spearmint.
If you'd like to try OraMD for yourself, I'm giving away a bottle to THREE readers! Enter Below!

I would love to try this its hard to find all natural oral hygiene products:)
Yes I like all natural products
yes, I would love to try this
Somewhat. I use Jason toothpaste and TOMs mouthwash. I'd prefer to replace both with one product though.

No just brush and go
I love natural products, but I still use a regular toothpaste.
I haven't yet!
Absolutely, actually considering making my own toothpaste right now!
Hi!
Flossing is the most important. TB bristles don't reach all the way down and between the teeth, nor does the cleansing product of choice flow well there. There is no substitute for physical debris removal.
80% of problems in the oral cavity start between the teeth, so odds are that if you floss every day, you will enjoy good oral health, and a beautiful smile, for your entire life. You will also enjoy better health overall, as doctors are finding links between the bacteria in the mouth, and other health issues.
Great post! Thanks!
yes, I'm using tooth soap
